Mojave National Preserve

The old Union Pacific depot at Kelso, now the visitors center for Mojave National Preserve, glows in the light of a crisp January morning.

The lunchroom sign at Kelso is bathed in the soft light of a winter sunrise. A relic of the era when passenger trains stopped for meals, this neon sign was restored when the National Park Service converted the old depot into a visitors center for Mojave National Preserve.
